Our Principals

It is an honor to serve as principal of George Washington Carver Elementary. As I begin my third year leading this incredible school, I continue to be inspired by our students, staff, and families who make Carver a place where everyone belongs and every child has the opportunity to thrive.

I have more than 15 years of experience in education and have served as a kindergarten teacher, fourth grade teacher, assistant principal, and principal. I earned my bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin and my master's degree in Educational Leadership from Texas State University.

At Carver, our guiding belief is simple: Belonging first. Growth always. Every child. This belief shapes every decision we make—from the way we build relationships to the way we teach, support, and celebrate every child. My goal is for every student to leave Carver not only academically prepared, but also confident, compassionate, and equipped with the skills to succeed wherever life takes them.

Outside of school, my partner, William, and I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, playing games, and spending time with our three children, family, and friends.

As an Assistant Principal at Carver Elementary, I bring a Master’s in Educational Leadership and 19 years of passionate educational experience to our campus. My journey began in the classroom, where I spent 10 years teaching Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 3rd Grade, and Special Education (SPED). These foundational years shaped my core belief that the elementary years are absolutely vital to fostering independence, academic growth, and lifelong success for all students.

For 9 years, I have channeled my classroom experience into administrative leadership. I focus daily on supporting our teachers, implementing impactful instructional strategies, and building a positive school culture where every child feels valued. Outside of school, I recharge by spending quality time with my family and friends, and I am usually right in the middle of a good book.
