My Education & Teaching Background

Graduated from Concordia University at Austin. I have taught in Georgetown ISD since 2004. I spent the first 18 years in 1st grade and last year I moved to second grade. This is my 20th year with GISD!!!

Before teaching in Georgetown I taught 6 years in other grade levels including first, second, and fourth grade. This is my 26th year of teaching! I love all subject areas and have a special passion for science and reading. You will see lots of projects, collaboration, and discussion in the classroom. I set high expectations for my students and truly believe all learners can succeed while still having fun!

Ms. Walker

Hello, my name is Kamryn Walker. I was born in Illinois and have lived in Colorado, Michigan, and Virginia. Even though I have moved around quite a bit, Texas has been my home since 1996.

I graduated from Southwest Texas State with a BA in Speech Communications. I worked in the accounting department of a telecommunications company for a year before attending graduate school at Southwest Texas State. I earned a MA in Elementary Education and this will be my 21st year teaching. Besides second-grade I have also taught first, fourth, and fifth grade. You will see lots of projects, collaboration, and discussion in the classroom. I set high expectations for my students and truly believe all learners can succeed while still having fun!

I am a mom of 3 energetic and sweet boys. My oldest is 14 and my twins are 11. We love sports, playing board games, being outside, and spending time with our family and friends. You will find us on the baseball diamond, basketball court, or football field in our spare time.

Ms. Kemper

My Education & Teaching Background

Graduated from Chaminade University with a BA, Psychology and Drury University with an M.Ed. in Special Education.

I have taught in Georgetown ISD since 2021. Before teaching in Georgetown I taught 7 years in secondary Special Education in Missouri and Texas, and spent 6 years as a paraprofessional in Special Education classrooms. This is my 16th year of teaching! I love all subject areas and have a special passion for math and science. I set high expectations in my classroom and believe in instilling a strong foundation including a love of reading and learning to include all learning styles.

Ms. Lambert

Hi! I am Kari Lambert and I teach 2nd grade at Carver Elementary!

I have been teaching for 6 years and this is my second year at Carver. Prior to teaching in GISD, I taught at a private school in Fort Worth. I am certified in Deaf Education and Elementary Education.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy volunteering, painting, reading, and crafts of all kinds. I love to hang out with my family and my sweet boxer pups!

Ms. Gilmore

Hello! My name is Hayley Gilmore, and I LOVE teaching 2nd Grade! This is my 10th year of teaching and my 2nd year at Carver! I graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I previously taught 1^st grade in other districts for 8 (and a half) years! I love teaching 2nd grade because I get to watch my students grow into amazing readers and inquisitive learners!
