My Education & Teaching Background
Welcome! My name is Kendall Olmstead. I am a 4th-grade teacher at Carver Elementary. I am so excited about this school year and I hope you are too. My goals are to create a community of learners, who feels confident in taking a risk during their learning process and to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child's life. To provide a safe and positive learning environment. I know that working together we can make this a successful year for your child.
This is my eighteenth year teaching at Carver Elementary. My husband and I live in Georgetown. We have three children, Ryan, Keegan, and Caitlin. Ryan lives and works in Minnesota, Keegan is in residency in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Caitlin is a child-life specialist.
Education & Teaching Background:
I have taught in Pflugerville ISD, Austin ISD, Eanes ISD, and Georgetown ISD. I was a director of a Preschool for 5 years and taught literacy for three years at Annie Purl Elementary. Every year, students have to learn a new set of expectations and notes. This can be a lot to remember at first. Please look through your child's backpack and folder carefully for papers and notes. Please also talk with your child each night about his/her school day and what things need to be returned the next day.

Howdy!
I am excited to begin my fifth year at Carver and in dual language! I will be teaching Math and Science for 4th and 5th grade, and my partner Sonia Tindle will be teaching ELAR/SLAR and Social Studies for 4th and 5th grade. I have two awesome "kids", Jessica and Jacob, and I am very proud of both of them. Jessica completed her graduate work at Texas A&M and is now Dr. Jessica. Jacob graduated from Texas A&M, married Annalee, works at Terracon, and they live in Bryan. I live on a small farm and love my animals, from Gideon the dog to Bo Jangles the donkey and all the goats, chickens, horse, ducks, geese and cats in between. Our Carver family, which includes Peaches the rabbit, is going to have a fantabulous year together!
This year my conference period is from 9:35 - 10:25. We will be sending newsletters by email to help keep families connected with what is going on in the classroom. If you have any questions or concerns, please call or email and I am happy to talk with you or meet with you.

About Mrs. Howard
Hi, I'm Kate Howard, and I teach 4th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies. I have been teaching at Carver Elementary since 2022. Prior to teaching at Carver Elementary, I taught 7th Grade English Language Arts and Dyslexia at Taylor Middle School and 4th Grade Writing and Science at Cater Elementary.
I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Technical Communications and wrote technical manuals for various technology companies in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. After two years, I decided to get my teaching certificate and have been teaching ever since. This past December, I also received my Masters in Library Science. I currently live in Georgetown, Texas, with my husband and our English bulldog.
When I'm not teaching, I am usually reading any and all types of manga (Japanese comic books) or graphic novels. I also enjoy playing pickleball with my husband and fidgeting with the latest cooking tools. I am looking forward to another wonderful year at Georgetown ISD.
